City of Muskegon Director of Public Safety - Tony Kleibecker

Tony Kleibecker, Director of Public Safety

Hi, and welcome to the Muskegon Police Department. On behalf of all of our staff I'd like to thank you for visiting our website. In designing our pages, we've taken great care in maintaining a balance of information that's important to our community while at the same time incorporating features that are fun! You'll find pages that describe the services that we offer, monthly crime statistics for each of our neighborhoods, upcoming events, and even job information if you'd like to be one of us! We've also provided information on Kids and Cops, with links to the DARE homepage and the FBI if you'd like to keep up to date on the "Ten Most Wanted."

Muskegon is an exciting and dynamic lakeshore community. As with any urban community we, as a police department, face a number of challenges. We are very fortunate in that we have residents who are willing to give of their time to help us improve the safety and quality of life in our city. The Muskegon Police Department has adopted a philosophy of community policing. For us it is just not a program, but a belief that guides us in delivering police services to you. We operate in an environment that encourages officers to work with community members and to solve problems.

Finally, and most importantly, we believe in treating people in a friendly, fair and respectful manner. It's important that we enjoy our jobs while at the same time helping you to experience this wonderful community. In order to do our jobs well, we need your trust, support and willingness to get involved. Please take this opportunity to learn about us and the ways in which you can contribute to the safety and well being of our city.

If at any time you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact any staff member or me. I can be reached by phone at (231)724-6955, or via e-mail at
