Muskegon Police Pipes & Drums

The Muskegon Police Pipes & Drums is a newly formed bagpipe and drum band from Muskegon County Michigan. Although the City of Muskegon Police Department is the chief supporter of the band, membership is open to non-police personnel.

The function of the band is to perform for various functions, concerts, parades and police/fire memorials. All functions (except police/fire memorials) will be used to raise money for the band to be used towards equipment and uniforms.

Membership in the band consists of seven pipers and five drummers. The band is in the recruiting process at this time and there are instructors to teach those who are willing to learn. We are also looking for experienced pipers and drummers as well. The band is also recruiting an enthusiastic and professional minded Drum Major. The band is a quasi-military organization. If you can play within these parameters and have the nerve to wear a kilt you can contact Jodi Dibble at the Muskegon Police Department (231) 724-6739. If unavailable please listen to the directions and leave a voice mail message. The band practices every second and fourth Monday of the month at the Egleston Township Hall attached to the Fire Department.

The band uniform that will be worn is the ancient Hume tartan, dark blue police style shirt, glengarry hat, hose, black shoes, white spats, black sporran and black kilt belt.
